Kite surf

Due to perfect conditions, Atins is an ideal place for the practice of this sport. Their extensive and deserted beaches receive from July to December, constant on-shore cross winds of 20 to 30 knots. Thanks to its privileged geographic location, you have the possibility of sailing on the calm Preguiças River waters; in a huge lagoon of calm flat waters that is formed on one side of the beach thanks to the natural protection of two sand banks; in the open sea where, with the appropriate tide, you can find 2.5-1.5 mts. waves; and, finally, in the paradisiac lagoons of the Lençois Maranhenses National Park. These last ones, vary of size depending on the rains, being the best moment from July to October.

Atins has a small community of riders with experienced instructors, equipment rentals and guided adventures.
